Stewart grew up on Merseyside and was interested in storytelling from a young age, starting out with short films that he would often make with friends. As he got older his interest in screenwriting grew, leading him to write feature scripts and further short films which he also enjoyed acting in.
Acting led Stewart to community theatre, where he performed in a number of plays around Liverpool. It was during this time that Stewart started writing his debut novel, A Single Source of Truth.
Bitten by the theatre bug, Stewart wrote and directed his first play, Millionaires Anonymous, which was performed at the Unity Theatre in 2015 and toured the North West in 2016.
Stewart went on to write his next play, Mummy’s Boy, which was one of six finalists of the Liverpool Hope Playwriting Prize in 2017. The opening scene of Mummy’s Boy was adapted into a short film, which was filmed in January 2019 and was completed in June 2019.
In the same month, A Single Source of Truth was released on Amazon in paperback and eBook.
Stewart lives in Liverpool with his wife. He works in IT and is currently writing his next book.
